RSPA 2017

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…  Well, Kilotech is bending the rules a little by letting you in on some of the scoop!

Paris may be the city of love, but at the Paris Hotel for the RSPA’s Retail Now 2017 show, Kilotech’s scales were shown plenty of love.

Our team just returned from a very informative and successful trip - maybe not as crazy as in the movie The Hangover - but for us it was!

We’ve seen some changes in the industry.  A few years ago we saw a lot of smaller companies that have since merged or entered into strategic partnerships that bundle their products and services.  The trend towards Omni-channel shopping experiences continues with companies who were once only online now going brick and mortar and vice versa.

For Kilotech, the booth was busy with visitors interested in good quality, affordable scales like our POS line of scales, the LE.3k price computing scale and our high-end TI30 full-touch price computing scale. The TI30 scale sets new direction for our business where our hardware will seamlessly integrate with third-party POS software and store management suites.  The trend is towards more data, more control and more integration – which our scales are positioned to support.

The LE.3k was also very well received.  The feedback was that the scale has a lot features for an entry-level product, that makes it very attractive to the more price sensitive segment of the market.

This was also an excellent training opportunity for our team to learn more about what is happening in the industry given the host of breakout sessions and speakers.  One of the sessions that stood out was “Stack Up Profit”.  It was about bundling your product offering with complementary products and services to increase margins.  These complementary items that provide added value can be physical such as printers, labels, scanners etc. or service-oriented such as extended warranties, service contracts and online or in-house training. These can be offered by Kilotech or by our distribution network.

As for what our three amigos were up to - that we will never know.  Some things do stay in Vegas!
